July 15, 2018 - Dublin, Ireland

Did I mention that the tides on this trip have not been our friend. We arrived in Dublin at 2:00 am having traveled the last 6 miles in reverse along a narrow channel. To compound things, today is Sunday and we were informed that not much would be open until noon. This basically gave us a 2 1/2 hour window as we had to be back on the ship by 2:30 pm in order to catch the high tide.

So what do we do when we only have a short window. Well if you're in Ireland, and particularly in Dublin, you go drinking. And that's what we did. Dublin is the home to Guinness so the Gunniess tour we did.

Worlds smallest glass of Guinness

Now that's a proper pint of Guinness

So today's timeline

15 minute taxi ride from ship to Guinness
60 minute tour of the Guinness
60 minutes to drink two pints of Guinness (mine and Sheryl's)
15 minute taxi ride back to the ship

And we're off to our next stop

  1. What a shame the tides were against you. You should ask for a tides refund!
